This is big news for every Muslim who has been wanting to visit Makkah more than once a year. Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially launched a new multiple-entry Umrah visa, and it changes the way Muslims around the world can plan their trips to the holy cities. For years, pilgrims had to apply for a new visa every single time they wanted to perform Umrah. That process is now a thing of the past.
What Is the New Multiple-Entry Umrah Visa?
The new visa is valid for 365 days from the date it is issued. During that one-year period, you can enter Saudi Arabia multiple times to perform Umrah without needing to apply for a brand new visa each time. It is a significant shift in how the pilgrimage process works and one that will make Umrah far more accessible for Muslims worldwide.
What Are the Key Details?
There are a few important things to understand before you start planning.
- •The maximum cumulative stay is 90 days across all your visits combined. Those days are shared, not reset with each trip. So if you stay for 30 days on your first visit, you have 60 days remaining for the rest of the year.
- •You still need to book an Umrah permit through the Nusuk platform before each individual trip. The visa gives you the ability to enter multiple times, but the permit is still required for every visit.
- •The visa cannot be used during Hajj season. If you are planning a trip close to the Hajj period, make sure to check the calendar and plan accordingly.
Why Does This Matter?
For a lot of Muslims, Umrah is something they dream about doing more than once. Maybe you went for the first time and felt that pull to go back. Maybe you have always wanted to go in Ramadan and again later in the year. Until now, the visa process was a barrier. This new system removes that barrier and gives pilgrims the flexibility to plan multiple trips with far less friction.
This is part of Saudi Arabia's broader Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to welcome 30 million Umrah pilgrims annually. Making the visa process more flexible is a major step toward that goal.
How Do You Apply?
The process still runs through the Nusuk platform. You purchase a service package from an approved provider, and the visa is issued against that package. Make sure your passport is valid well beyond your intended travel dates before you begin the application.
